about the

British Stage Dance Association

The British Stage Dance Association (BSDA) is one of the UK's newest dance associations & examination board. The association currently has a range of syllabis,Medal Tests & Performance Awards  for their members to teach to their students.

Currently we cover styles of dance from Ballet to Urban Cheer. We pride ourselves in offering our members a wide range of styles of dance so that they can allow their students to become more versitile performers or teachers if they chose to.

The BSDA was founded in 2010 by dance teachers from all over the United Kingdom. After getting the general idea and ambitions for the association they then advertised for dance teachers internationally to become part of the newest association around and to help make an association they could be proud to be apart of.

Since launching the British Stage Dance Association has become members of the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance & the International Dance Council allowing their members to have the knowledge of which so do many other dance professionals have. We currently have a specific officer within the association who consistantly checks with other councils and associations to ensure our standards are high enough to become more recognised within the industry.

The BSDA have many contacts within the industry including Choreographers, Event Planners, Performance Venues and also Dance Studio around the Uk and also internationally. Even though the BSDA Head Office is just for admin work, we do also have a Head Studio based within Shropshire which is where most of the workshops and courses are ran. This venue can also be hired if required.

We aim to provide our members with the chance to give their students the option to become professional teachers or professional dancers within the industry we work in.Here  at the British Stage Dance Association we understand that not all dance schools run in the same way. So if a school has an aternative medal tet to suggest, the BDA will endeavour to meet its need, providing it consist of suitable material. We believe that we are doing exactly that and will continue to do so for many more years ahead.
